Dear member,
As I am sure you are aware the Government announced a few week ago that from Monday the 26th of April some outdoor sporting activities can return including training for children of school going age. Today we received confirmation from the IRFU & Leinster Rugby that we can reopen that club for youths and minis on Monday the 26th.
This being the case we will spend the next 10 days getting the club facilities back to the level of COVID compliance that our players were used to before Christmas. Our COVID officer will be reminding all coaches and administrators of the rules set out by government and Irish rugby around returning to training.
Our plan is to resume youths rugby training on Tuesday the 27th of April and continuing until at least the end of May. Minis rugby will return on Saturday morning the 1st of May and will run for the 5 Saturdays in May to the 29th.
It is great to be able to open up again after almost 4 months of lockdown. We as coaches and as a club are really excited about welcoming the players back to training.
We understand that our season is being extended beyond its normal finishing date because of the lockdown. We know that everyone is going to have a very busy time in the next 3/4 months with other sports opening up, schoolwork and exams. The focus of all groups in Naas Rugby club will be fun and enjoyment over the next 6/8 weeks. If any of our players need to attend other sports that clash with our training there will be no pressure from us for them to attend rugby. The next few months needs to be about our young people returning to sport, reconnecting with friends and returning to normality, whatever form that takes.
