Our U12's played at half time in the RDS on Friday night against Tullow which was the highlight of the day - the Leinster V Edinburgh game in the URC was further down the pecking order :-)
The excitement on the build up was intense - it was our time to shine in the RDS!!
Below is a recount of the day from one of the players - Noah Tyrrell.
"My name is Noah Tyrrell and I play for Naas under 12s. We were chosen to play at half time against Tullow at the Leinster vs Edinburgh game. I got off school early and I headed straight into the stadium with my dad and brother.
We were the first to arrive and met Daniel Britton Milner at the meeting point then my whole team arrived. We were really excited. We were amazed when we walked into the stadium at how big it was. We watched Edinburgh warm up , one of the players broke a seat with the power of the ball from his kick.
We got a picture taken with Bernard Jackman ex Ireland and Leinster player and Edinburgh coach Mike Blair.
After this a few of us watched the commentators before the match and my mam said we got on TV.
We watched the start of the game from the North stand before we had to go to get our gear on and to get ready to play at half time.
I was nervous and excited about playing in front of all of the people. Then we got called to play,we lined up and ran onto the pitch. Each half was 5 mins long and we won 1 try to nil. When half time came we changed our team it was weird that we couldn't hear the crowd when we were on the pitch.
After we did a lap of honour and we're clapped off the pitch by the crowd. It was a great day. Thanks to our coaches and parents for all the support and for bringing us to the RDS. We had a ball!!"
